We are a military family from San Diego California that wanted to enjoy a peaceful vacation in Colon with our local family. It was all that and much more. The property was beautiful, and well kept. The service was excellent. The rooms were clean. The owner was very friendly as well as the staff. I have nothing but good things to say about the place. I will refer all my friends and can’t wait to get some time off to go out there again. From The Bovell Family
Amazing! This was my family’s first trip to Panama. We live in the US. This stretch of the country is perfect. Spent a few of the first days of our trip here before heading south. Boats out to Isla Mamey or Isla Grande for a few of hours of swimming or chilling are easy to take from close by. Small towns along the coast are close for store with snacks and drinks. There is minimal shopping in this remote area but that’s not why you come here! We stayed in a double set up, separate rooms and bathrooms. Super comfy beds and pillows!! Carlos is a wonderful and attentive host! He took care of us while we were here, sent us tour guide options, even went above and beyond checking on our late luggage to ensure it came. His English is fantastic which is such a help to us given our poor, but trying!!! :), Spanish. They cook breakfast (included), lunch and dinner and provide pool side snacks and drinks (extra but the charges were so reasonable it felt like it was included!) The kitchen staff is super nice and the food hits the spot. Simple menu but when your kids clean their plate every meal you know they are doing it right! We loved the hamburgers and fries. The town of Portobello is about 25 minutes away and there were ruins along the road that we stopped at for a great surprise and treat. I highly recommend this place. We had dinner across the street down the hill at the bay. A quaint seaside restaurant with a limited but just perfect menu for fresh fish. It’s run by a guy from Holland with a great sense of humor and again great service. Full disclosure: no swimming beaches close by. You pretty much have to take a boat to one of the islands but it’s worth the $40 round trip fare and fun to see the coasts from the water. Also, lots of steps so if someone in your group has trouble getting around just ask for a lower level room. We needed the exercise, stayed high but it was worth the views!!
